First US Visit
Documentary - 1st gen from laserdisc - 83 minutes

Note: Culled from hours of footage shot in February 1964 by the Maysles Brothers, this program shows the young Beatles on the brink of superstardom during their first visit to the USA. This is the REAL 'Hard Day's Night'; Alun Owen, who wrote 'AHDN', accompanied the group on this trip to get a feel for their habits, their relationships and life on the road. So the gritty b/w footage here has the same feel and rhythm that their first feature film would portray. But most important, this program contains the group's first three Ed Sullivan Show appearances, in great video quality, as well as terrific excerpts from their first USA concert at the Washington Coliseum.
