hi slowhanders,

Just I was listening this EC show from Budokan (Japan) on 17-10-1997, when
in the Encore "Everyday I have the blues" EC has a few words to the people,
he said.."I can remember, how many years.. it must be...maybe...in
seventy-three" and anybody from the audience said "seventy-two" and EC said
"Seventy-two, when I came back...so 25 years in coming in..."

I think it's really amazing Clapton don't remember just the only 2 years he
didn't play on a tour (1972-1973)... I suppose he wants to say on 1974 when
he visited the Budokan. After when he is playing "Everyday I have the blues"
and when he is intruducing the band finally he said at the guitar... GEORGE
TERRY!!! and then played a solo guitar. Awesome! I suppose he did this,
remenbering this times when G.Terry played with him.

regards,
Kuko

Hello All,

Checking out "Vintage Guitar", November 2001, page 68-69, an interview with
Dave Mason, and I noticed something interesting:

----

VG: You were playing lead guitar for Delaney and Bonnie and Friends when
that band opened for Blind Faith. Eric Clapton ultimately ended up spending
more time with that band while on tour than with Blind Faith, and both you
and Clapton played on Delaney a Bonnie's live album.

DM: I was originally going to be part of Derek and the Dominos, but it's no
secret that at the time, Eric was starting to get into heroin, so there was
a lot of sitting around, doing nothing. I got frustrated, but I had cut
some stuff with him for the Layla album in England, and I did one show with
him at the Hammersmith Odeon.

----

Anyone familiar with this? I admit that I'm not as up on my trivia as I
could be, but I'm at a loss on this one. At this point I'm trying to figure
out who claims NOT to have been invited to join Derek and the Dominos - sort
of like the fact that there are 100x more people who CLAIM to have been at
Woodstock than were actually there!

Hello All,

Recently there are a number of folks, some on AOL and some NOT on AOL, who
have been having problems either receiving, or posting to, the Digest.

Obviously posting about this here seems sort of silly, but many receive the
Digests forwarded to them by others, so I'm hoping they will get this
message that way.

If you fit into those catagories, please email me privately! Trying to line
up some sort of workaround...

Thanks!
Mark Deavult

wouldn't it be nice to see EC performing here, even
"just" as a sideman.

Eric...?

Yolie

PS Maybe EC can provide us with the "rare" recording
from Portland, Oregon 2001 show.

Hi all,

It's been about a month now, hasn't it, since a lot of AOL members have been
unable to receive the digest? Apparently, Dave, our faithful administrator,
prefers to carry on his hate campaign with AOL by letting us flounder out
here.

Dave, AOL is the largest system of it's kind in the world. Do you really
think you'll win overall? Also, I understand other folks with ISPs such as
Earthlink are now starting to not receive the digest, too.

Some of us are wondering if you really still want to do this anymore? Would
you like someone else to take over this highly paid job? I realize you get
no thanks for it. But it's getting frustrating to just be told by you to get
another service because your digest won't honor the one we have. Have you
considered taking your digest over to Yahoo which would let you run it for
free and not cause the problems to AOL folks and others that presently
exist?

A lot of folks out here would appreciate a resolution to this that lets us
all receive the digest hassle-free again.

And, for anyone wondering, the EC content here is that I'd like to be able
to read about EC on this digest via AOL once again!

Greetings SDers -

This week's Mp3 of the Week is Have You Ever Loved a Woman, from July 7,
1974. Eric probably doesn't remember much of this night, as apparent from
the recording, but Freddie King joined him on stage for three songs.
Freddie literally takes over on HYELAW, sort of showing Eric how it's done.
It still amazes me how well Eric can play that guitar while under the
influence! This track is taken from the album Tell the Blues.

Enjoy!

Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I know we're all on the lookout for the August 7, 2001 Eric Clapton show in
Portland. *because he played an all Gibson Electric Set

However, I had a question related to the show:

** When did he switch from the ES-335 to the Flametop Gibson Les Paul?
(which song?)

Anyone, please help

Take Care
