I'd like to hear from this person, too - I did have some contact but
unfortunately lost the email somewhere between the fourth and seventh times
Windows 2000 crashed (gee, guess what, there's a bug about how Win2k flushes
the cache if you install great big hard drives!).

Given that I now have professional level DVD recording equipment (of which
the burner is the least expensive part!), I'd be fascinated to get my paws
on the master - it can be put on DVD (and also VCD) for everyone to enjoy in
the same quality.

In that vein, I desperately need to hear from someone who has one of the
original Nothing But the Blues promo VHS tapes(NOT the off the air PBS
broadcast). I now have NBtB on DVD, from a master tape loaned me by a
generous Slowhander, who recorded it on Super VHS from a satellite feed.
But I still need to edit in parts off the promo, and my copy of the promo is
3rd generation, and there's no use going to all this work for 3rd
generation! So if you're the proud owner of an original, please contact me
privately and I'll make you a deal you can't refuse! I can sweeten the deal
with some stuff you will NOT find anywhere else

Cheers,
Mark Deavult

Hi,

Indeed, AOL is the biggest in the world ... but I wouldn't accept that AOL
decides what I can read and what not . Dave Hillman says that AOL hasn't
bounced back a single digest, which means that it arrived at the AOL
servers, and that AOL decided not to send it to the people paying for its
service .
Now personally I don't think this has something to do with censorship or so,
but I think they might use this trick to reduce bandwidth use . Since a lot
of Internet companies are living really bad times due to the situation on
the stock market, I think they are trying to reduce costs ... I have heard a
rumor that YAHOO is thinking of charging for (at least some of) its groups .
Anyway, the first thing to do imho, is to contact AOL and ask them for an
explanation .

Hey Slowhanders -

This week's MP3 of the Week is Ramblin' On My Mind, a slide acoustic version
from the LA rehearsals for the Pilgrim Japan tour. It's a short one, but a
lot of fun, and a perfect recording. Why couldn't we get THIS live on
tour?!

Due to users requests, I've zipped the mp3 files. They're not much smaller
as far as megabyte size is concerned, but some users had trouble downloading
mp3 files due to network restrictions. You need a Zip program to open them,
preferably WinZip. I'm assuming 99% of you have one already, and if not,
you can get a free trial version at winzip.com.

Any feedback is much appreciated, and will be answered. Please note that I
am not taking any new trades at the moment. (playing catch up again!)

Take care & enjoy,
Josh Ritter

I find it hard to believe that a digester who stops getting their digest
would assume it has folded and never try to contact another digester to ask
if
he/she is still getting it.Excepting of course that this person has never
corresponded
to anyone else on the list or that every friend they know on the list also
has AOL. I don't have AOL, but I have many friends that do and I never hear
them say that AOL is great! They always seem to complain about it.
