Well, Rick's comments on EC's career are so
devastatingly accurate that I am left with no choice
but to unsubscribe from this Digest. I can no longer
associate myself with an organization that worships a
'has been' musician. I have decided to join the
John Fogerty digest and worship a player who is
still playing with the same 'fire' that he did 20
years
ago!
Good luck to you all.......hopefully "Sleepyhand"
Clapton will come to his senses someday...

Buckwheat Zydeco

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I think the author of the
forwarded post regarding Eric's post 60's career is WAY off target. To
claim that he's done nothing since then is ludicrous, imo. Every live show
I've heard as always featured some incredible playing. Of course the too
drunk to play shows would be an exception, but I've never heard anything
from those. Even the records from the prolonged laid-back period always had
some tracks I have really enjoyed. Rather than complaining about what Eric
should have done I think we should appreciate all the great music he's given
us over all these years and look forward to him continuing (hopefully!) to
do so in the future. While I understand his desire to "retire", the world
will be a lesser place without the continued expression of his talents.

Dave
