Hi Rick,
I remember you asked about the diminished chord that EC moaned about.
Just picked up the latest issue of a UK magazine called Total Guitar Feb
issue.$11.95!
In it is a very nice break down of the chords/lyrics to My Sweet Lord and
indeed George uses the diminished chord in two places. It's a movable chord
so it can be used in the same position in any key.
Play the 1-4 strings only (think open D7 with bass note on 4th string 1st
fret, bar it with your index finger) .Irony is that EC uses that same chord
during the little instrumental walk down part in Let It Rain.
Have fun!
Scott

Greg,

Are you sure you don't have this confused with Eric's appearances with
Jimmie Vaughn. I remember that EC not only played at the Tribute Concert
for SRV, but either the night before or after that, he joined Jimmie on
stage for another show. It may have been ACL.

Are you sure this isn't the SRV tribute show they did a while back that EC
was a part of? I have that one (its great!) and I know that Stevie's
brother Jimmie Vaughan was on it. Could that be what you mean?
If so, here's the link to the VHS tape at Amazon.com. They also sell it in
DVD format.

Hope that helps
Loraine

Hey Gang,

Who the hell played and sang the absolutely glorious version of "Lonely
Stranger" on the Digest Tribute collection? I'm awed and touched by the
passion of the acoustic guitar and voice. Congratulations whoever it
was!!! Man, you are one talented player, dude.

Keep On Rockin'

Ok, there were rumors that some of the shows in Japan have been
recorded...
I'd prefer a single CD with "killer tracks" only. And I'd like these
songs, please:
>From the acoustic set:
- Key to the Highway (hey, I could "digest" a complete CD of EC/Gadd!)
- Got you on my Mind (for personal reasons :) )
- Bell Bottom Blues
- Change the World (fast & funky, please)
Pilgrim set:
- My Father's Eyes
- River of Tears
- Goin' Down Slow
- She's Gone (the complete set, that's right!)
Greatest Hits set:
- Badge (just for the keyboards!)
- Layla
Encore:
- Somewhere over the Rainbow (of course!)

Hey, don't forget: The dreams that you dare to dream really do come
true! :)

Quick question for the group:

Eric used a rainbow strat on the reptile tour, i liked the sound of it.
However, on the Pilgrim tour he used pretty much the blackie clone strat for
all the electric stuff.. Am I right?

Also, any difference (electronically speaking) between the two guitars,
besides of course appearance?

Thanks
Apurva

So, I'm listening to the new Budokan disc...

Definately the worst moment of an EC fan's day is when
the versus end, your blood gets hot in anticipation of
a guitar solo, and what you get instead is a piano
solo. Ugh!

Why did he cut out his solo in Want a Little Girl? It
was one of the best parts of the show.
