~~~~~~~~
You-know-who's Birthday is coming up soon and I'd like to make my little
poem-appeal once more.  I don't see where there's anything else going on...
EC's Birthday is right around the corner.
I've been doing this little project myself for three years now. In some
ways...it is asking alot and then IF only a few were to take it up...It isn't
all that much! Yet, in three years...well, that's at least 360 dollars I've
been able to contribute. Again, NOT a lot, but It Is Better Than Nothing! It
is not meant to annoy or aggravate anyone--just maybe stir-up a little
support for Eric's cause....nothing more--nothing less!
Mimi
Re:  Let It Grow!
Sending out a special request,
  To those who think Eric's the best.
He's got a cause; it's a good one indeed!
  Time for friends & fans to.. take heed.
So I'm suggesting that we make a pledge,
  An informal one--not on the cutting edge.
Since we can't(couldn't) afford a guitar--one he's(was) auctioning away.
  To get involved, there's another way.
$10 a month times 1000 fans, you see---
  Will equal ten thousands dollars.  How hard can it be?
And just think, if there's more donated with care;
  How many souls could be helped?  He knows; he's been there.
To give back a little... to a man who's given a lot--
  To all of us... with the music we've got.
He's not asking; it's not his way.
  For someone we truly admire, what do you say?
Each month, pick a day & make it your plan,
  To give of yourself, out of your hand.
What a way to get involved. What a way to show,
  Your support and encouragement as Clapton fans,
To his Crossroads Centre today.  Let It Grow!
Send check or money order to:  Crossroads at Antigua Foundation,
Hello Sd'ers,
I posted something similar to this on the Zeppelin digest and got a lot of
discussion. Let's see what happens here
Scenario
We live in a dream world, let's pretend you are Eric's manager and he
listens to your advice 100% He's just had a baby girl, finished a major tour
and album, and now is asking you what his next project should be..
As his manager, you think thoughtfully and present him the following options
:
(with pro's and con's)
1. record an album with the impressions, with ray charles covers, and other
covers...
(pros- no effort in writing new material, comfort with the Impressions
cons- won't sell well, cannot really tour with it, but who cares, you said
you won't tour much more anyways)
2. Do another duets type album, this time with Ray Charles
(pros: could be a big hit, and you will be able to fulfill a dream
cons: ray will overshadow you, you will come off like a michael bolton rip
off)
3. Do a straight ahead rock/blues album with new material
(pros: appease fans who want new stuff, hopefully it will sell
cons: i have a baby girl, and i dont wanna write new stuff, look at reptile,
not worth effort)
4. Guest on others albums, keep low key, do things here and there with
friends, but nothing on my own
(pros: i can fish whenever i want and pick things when i want
cons: become irrelevant, cannot satisfy my muse)
I left off a blues album/tour, cause i don't think eric will do that again
after FTC..
So if you were eric which would you do?
being a fan, whcih one would you like?
Is there anything else you guys can think of?
Thanks
Apurva
Hi all,
the Budokan Show Offer is officially closed.
I received lots of reactions, but I had to restrict it to just four people.
And the lucky ones are:
Eddy Pollet
Wout Damen
Boudewijn Aelbers
Peter Koehlen
You will receive the show as soon as possible.
Thanks to all Slowhanders who reacted to the offer.
Happy hunting!
Does anybody know how many times EC played Driftin' (electric) and Double Trouble during the Nothing But The Blues tour?
Thanks.
Best,
Ken
So who are these Mid Valley people, and how does one get in touch with them? Or where can one buy their product?
Hello,
Another Budokan offer. The first four people that responds to this message
with their address will receive a copy.
If you don't get a reply, you were not one of the four!
Cheers,
Per Rune
