Hello-
Might someone have a recording of this show? (As someone said at the time,
it was like a religious experience.)
   I have things to trade.
   Sorry for the interruption.

best to all,
Jon

Wow there really don't seem to be that many posts lately. Is there some
underground group out there secretly going around bumping off EC fans?

I shall take this silence as an invitation for me to start rambling on about
everything and nothing and after my recent post about EC with Sheryl Crow in
'96 I thought I'd talk briefly about one of my favourite EC concerts.

To give you a bit of perspective, I'll summarize the EC gigs I've been to:-

Journey Man show RAH 1990
Blues Night RAH 1991
Post Unplugged Brighton 1992
Blues Night RAH 1993
Blues Night RAH 1995
Blues Night NIA Birmingham 1995
Greatest Hits RAH 1996
Hyde Park 1996
Montserrat RAH 1997
New Year Gig 1997-98
Earls Court 1998
Reptile Nights RAH 2001 x2

The gig I wanted to talk about was the RAH 5 Mar 1993 blues night. Much talk
goes on about the '94/'95 "From the Cradle" blues shows but not many people
talk about these '93 shows. After the '90/'91 guest star blues nights I was
expecting much of the same only to be pleasantly surprised. I found the
music at this show to be much more "rootsy" than before and much less filled
with solos than the "from the cradle" shows. I remember sitting there when
he started his electric version of "walking blues" and being blown away by
the tone and feel. From what I remember it was only EC with his slide strat
and the drummer (may have been bass as well - I don't remember) and the
sound was so raw and powerful - I could feel it pulsing through my stomach.

A couple of year later I managed to pick up the "slowhand blues" boot from
these shows but the quality of the recording could not do the music justice.
I know the shows were recorded being as two songs were later released on an
EC single but none of the other songs seem to have surfaced (please let me
know if you do have a copy).

All in all, this was one of my fave EC gigs. Not for the screaming solos but
I found it to be the purest blues I've ever heard live.

Please feel free to air your opinion.

Scott

>From the Daily Mail newspaper.
Sir Paul McCartney is teaming up with Eric Clapton to preform George
Harrison's song Here Comes The Sun.
'Paul really wanted to do one of George's songs as a tribute to him and he
thought Eric Clapton would be the perfect
artist to join him on stage" said a Jubilee source.
No other mention of Eric.

Best wishes.

Hey everyone,
It has come to my attention that several cd's/vcd's that I recently burned
have been bad. It is confirmed that there is some sort of problem with
either my new cd burner or the brand of cd's that I used. I ask that if I
recently made a trade, sent out a free cd, vcd or otherwise sent you
something that you let me know if everything is good. If it is not, please,
please, PLEASE! let me know! Also let me know what brand of CDR it is that
is bad, or good for that matter so I can narrow this problem down. If you
let me know what is bad I will do my very best at getting a replacement out
to you as soon as humanly possible. I regret any inconvenience this has
placed upon anybody. thank you for your kind understanding in this matter.
I will do my very best to get this solved as soon as possible for everyone.
ivan

ps. thanks to Roberto for bringing this to my attention. I burned 250 cd's
for my friends wedding and about 20% of them are messed up. Imagine the
embarrassment you have saved me! thanks! I owe you big time and I will
send you my list so you can pick a few thank you selections.

pss. I burn so many cd's/vcd's that it is hard to keep track of who, what,
where, when or why, so please forgive me for wasting digest space with my
problems.

thanks again!

Coming out of lurk mode to share this interesting, marginally on-topic
